Tried that . I was miserable . Dry drunk . Put the bottle down . Didn't deal with the baggage as to why I drank in the first place. You seem to think it's just some people can't stop for no reason . It's trauma that leads us to drink . The booze is only a simptom of what is really going on . If your struggling . The 12 steps will get you sober and stay that way one day at a time . Not here to advertise but it works . Almost 10 years sober myself

Happy 4th July to everyone in America. Here in the UK we'll be having an election and gaining independence from the old government which is something to celebrate 😃. Today I hit six weeks since my last drink (a two bottles of red wine binge). I've been pretty hardcore and changed my diet to a plant based one and began alternate day fasting at the same time. I've now dropped 9kg in weight and feel better than I have for years. This channel is what saw me through the earliest days, and it's where I come if I'm having a wobble.

It's funny that my family and friends around me are rushing in to offer "low alcohol " alternatives when I told them I didn't want to drink alcohol anymore. Its like they can't bear the thought of it for me. I on the other hand am so happy I've made this decision. Its been such a long time coming. The fear of being isolated and lonely has held me back but this channel is so helpful. I don't feel lonely anymore ❤

I'm tired of feeling fatigued , anxiety, depressed, and my child's mother hating me and hurting us being healthy for our child. i dont feel sober because my dr drs had had me on benzos Suboxone. All i here on here is drinking no disrespect, i have ptdd, bad depression disorder with out the drugs n drinking so when ever get sober i feel trapped n scared my dr wants to wein me off my benzos .. i put myself in rehab 6 times nobody knows how bad benzo withdrawls are like its not weeks, not monthly..years!!!! Juggling my job and 3 year old. Idk 😢

I was on date-night with my chica last night, walked right by a restaurant/bar last night, and remembered how you said to change places. It’s so nice not to get “one drink” because I feel good about not drinking the last four. Well, I’m feeling really good about Day 5 :)

Almost 7 months sober! I’m amazed at my thought clarity now. And energy? Wow!!

Went from 1,5 year jobless daily drinking that at times escalated to 3 bottles of wine, now with a new job was pushing a few days sober to revert to a bender on the weekend. Used the lying to myself again yesterday to have a few drinks, typing this in hangxiety and messages and emails that I can’t take back. I just can’t moderate and become a smoking alcohol demon that destroys her body, connections and opportunities. I have to stop completely. Thank you for what you do. I will follow your advice. I don’t want a dot dot dot again. I want an “the end.” I have to not just say what for but also act grateful towards God for this life, not ruin it.

The gym has been my go-to in aiding my sobriety. Unfortunately, they will be closing early on the 4th. At the same time, I am in a space where I do not have any family where I reside and very few "friends" other than some gym rats : ). So I may spend some time on the waterfront and some netflix. I'm staying in a safe space as this is a recent start for me and not comfortable testing my discipline just yet.

1 year July 5th no alcohol

9 months sober on the 8th of July. The holidays have been so hard for me because everyone around me drinks but I have made it through them by reminding myself of how good my life is now. I have fun doing all kinds of things sober. Actually more fun because I am more in the moment.

Day 3. I have been sober before and loved it. One thing I realised through meditation is my inner voice has been loud and clear for a long time. I do listen to it but then I just ignore it. So that voice just started yelling at me!! So here goes, Dry July and hopefully longer. I have had a most stressful upsetting year and I have to build up my resilience again and drinking is the worst thing for that. I have followed the steps and love the counter app, it really gives me a kick. All the best to everyone out there giving sobriety a go!

8 and half months sober from booze and weed. I've been learning to enjoy, cope, deal with, or whatever all of life's ventures. I am now in the midst of my toughest challenge....Two Weeks Vacation. This is filled with travel, drinking friends, family, social events, warm deck weather. So far I am enjoying it very much, but need to pay attention. Every night I says "thanks" because I stayed sober and genuinely enjoyed the day. This is my first sober vacation in 30 plus years.

AA helped me so much and I celebrated 15 years in March. If you’re only relying on yourself and you have no one else to be held accountable to, aside from yourself, chances of relapsing increase. Also part of the AA program is working with others and helping others to stay sober. It takes the focus off of yourself and onto others which helps yourself and also other people.

This will be my 3rd sober 4th of July. 🙌 thank you for this video, reminding me of all the great things that come with being sober! Part of my success comes from watching videos like these 💯💪😎🥳

Those are some terrifying statistics. I’m not American and it is a huge country but those numbers are shocking. Ten years ago I was in vegas for the 4th and can attest to how much of a binge it was. 283 days for me. It got easier for me. Even when I got Injured I didn’t go back to it. So I was able to keep the weight off too. I really don’t want to go back to who I was before
